Confidence and connection
At a time of giving and receiving, friends and family, gratitude and reflection, I'd like to take some time to share a story from the fabulous charity I am a trustee of. The story has touched a nerve, it's gone viral and receiving lots of attention, so I thought I'd share it again. This story came out at the end of November.
'This is Anthony. Up until 5 weeks ago he was street homeless and sleeping rough behind Birmingham Central Library.
After complaints from the public to Birmingham City Council rough sleeping team he was picked up by the enforcement team.
After speaking to Anthony the team realised he wasn't on drugs, alcohol or begging and was homeless due to unforseen circumstances.. After losing his job a few months ago he ended up on out of work benefits and he couldn't afford to pay his rent so lost his flat and ended up homeless sleeping rough on the streets.
Through partnership working between the enforcement team, the City Pastors Broad Street team, Trident Reach the charity and Suited for Success, he's now in his own accommodation, has been supported to find employment and was dressed ready for a job interview with the West Midlands Combined Authority yesterday (29/11/19)
This is partnership working in action helping to change lives.
Wishing Anthony all the very best!!!'
If you would like to help Suited in the New Year, either by volunteering or donating, please do get in touch with Suited here we'll be very grateful for your help and so will others just like Anthony. Sometimes all it needs is some practical help, but more than that, confidence building and connection. Suited provides that in spades.

I haven't sent out corporate gifts or Christmas cards this year, I have instead donated to Suited, I hope you appreciate my decision. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and an amazing new decade as we move in to 2020. I will look forward to being in touch with you next year as we are now closing for the holidays and will re-open on 6th January 2020.
