Meet the team

Lyn Bromley has been the Managing Director of First Impressions Training Ltd since September 2010.

She is an experienced people manager, trainer and consultant. Her corporate background spans finance, training, consultancy and project management. She has worked with clients from a whole host of industries including retail, financial services, law, engineering, logistics, hospitality management, gas and oil, manufacturing and telecoms. These clients have ranged in size from SMEs to blue-chip organisations. Prior to moving into the realms of self-employment she was latterly Professional Services Manager for Cognos, (now owned by IBM).

Prior to taking over First Impressions, Lyn worked as a corporate coach and as a key member of the First Impressions Training Team. Her real passion is helping people to maximise their potential by enhancing their professional profile, ensuring that they pay as much attention to their own ‘branding’ and communication skills as they do to their technical skills. Creating a professional and authentic presence is as important as the technical competencies for career and personal development. She is a Master Coach, Master Practitioner of NLP, Master of the Federation of Image Professionals International, Prince 2 Accredited Trainer, DiSC Accredited Trainer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Lyn is a past finalist for the High Growth Award for The Network of Aspiring Women, winner of the High Growth Category at Women Inspiring Women and a finalist for Network Member of the Year at the Achiever's Academy for Women.

Donna Whitbrook is an experienced corporate consultant, people developer and coach.

Her extensive corporate background spans finance, training, consultancy, performance improvement, governance and strategy.

She has held senior positions in Banking and Finance and Board level positions in the Public and Third Sectors. Her key strengths being turn around of underperformance, service delivery and relationship management.

She has a real belief in the work she promotes. Donna is passionate about helping businesses to transform the performance of individuals and teams enabling them to reflect the brand values of the organisation and to create outstanding customer service.

She believes that, in today’s world of work, being competent and doing a really good job is simply not enough. Today we have to have the ability to create impact and maximise our personal presence in order to be positively memorable. Being a brand ambassador for our business and being able to engage with others confidently in order to build successful, professional relationships is key to outstanding performance.

Donna works with individuals as well as in organisations in a perceptive, intuitive and open style which motivates and inspires them to achieve greater professional success. Her corporate experience allows her to work across many sectors including law, health, finance and retail.

She is a First Impressions Corporate Associate, NLP business Practitioner, Master Coach and DiSC Certified Trainer.

Ruth Cane has been helping individuals and organisations strengthen their performance and increase their effectiveness for over 20 years.

Creating successful organisations with a positive leadership climate where individuals can thrive is at the heart of her approach. Drawing on a range of methods, knowledge and expertise in Organisational Development, HR, Change Management, Culture Transformation, Emotional Intelligence and Personality tools Ruth builds appreciative and trusting relationships with people at all levels in client organisations.

Her broad professional experience in Learning and Organisational Development, HR and management has spanned large organisations including public and third sector organisations as well as research and training consultancy. As a senior HR manager she has designed and delivered a range of leadership development and talent programmes, led organisational change and introduced an in-house career coaching service.

As an Executive and Career Coach Ruth has worked with senior leaders providing individual and team coaching to strengthen Emotional Intelligence, enhance personal presence and impact, increase flexibility and resilience. Her approach is based on the belief that successful leaders must first be able to manage themselves - ‘the big differentiator with successful organisations and people is emotional intelligence: how someone manages themselves to be both personally and interpersonally effective’.

Confidently working across professional disciplines and sectors Ruth has a reputation for being insightful and engaging ‘providing the perfect mix of professional expertise and approachability’.

Ruth holds an MSc in Policy Studies, Diploma in Human Resource Management, Certificate in Management, Certificate in Management Consulting and Certificate in Career Counselling. She is an OD Practitioner (NTL), Insights Discovery Practitioner and Coach, JCA Emotional Intelligence Assessments Practitioner and Coach, Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), and Image Consultant.

Catherine Joce is an experienced corporate and personal image coach. An HR professional with a specialist background in recruitment and learning and development, her experience has included responsibility for the management of skills development programmes and the design and delivery of soft skills training. She has held senior resourcing roles in the consulting, telecom and IT sectors, with clients ranging from large corporates to start-ups.

Catherine is passionate about helping individuals make the best of their career development opportunities and job search activities. She has a keen interest in the education sector and has been associated with London Business School for 10 years where she has undertaken HR projects and provided workshops on competency interviewing and personal image. In addition she provides individual career coaching support and runs workshops on career development and on image and impact at interview at several European business schools .

She is a First Impressions Corporate Associate, an Affiliate Member with the Federation of Image Professionals International and an Associate with Workmaze Career Consultants. She sits on the Hertfordshire Advisory Committee responsible for the appointment of Magistrates.

Joanna Gaudoin is an experienced personal and corporate image expert. Prior to re-training in this field 5 years ago, Joanna spent a decade in marketing and consultancy, working mainly with blue-chip clients such as SABMiller, Toshiba and Kimberly-Clark. She now uses her varied experience of the corporate world to help professional people with their image and impact. Joanna works with individuals on the core skills of appearance, body language and voice, as well as working with people on the challenges they face in specific business scenarios – to help them build better business relationships. Joanna is experienced at running large presentations, smaller workshops and 1-2-1 sessions. Her clients are predominantly within the professional services sector.

She is a First Impressions Corporate Associate, an Associate Member with the Federation of Image Professionals International and an Associate with Voice at the Table Limited.

After working for several years in England in Marketing, Myriam Hoffmann, a French national, took a passion for image and communication skills and trained with First Impressions in 1993. She then moved to Geneva in Switzerland and set up her image consultancy, Première Impression, offering her services to both private and corporate clients.

She complemented her original practical experience as an image consultant with various trainings and by achieving a Master Diploma in Enneagram in 2004 and certified as a recognised Personal Coach in 2006.

Since its creation, Première Impression has enjoyed constant and rapid growth to become today a highly specialised consultancy and training centre which helps private individuals, people in business and the profession to polish their communication and presentation skills. As a result and for more than seventeen years, Myriam has been coaching many chief executives, company directors and royal members communicate more effectively. Recent assignments include working with organisations as varied as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Groupe H architects, Geneva Hospital, L’Oréal, DBM or private colleges. She has also been consulting for some major international make-up and perfume companies.

Myriam conveys a vast amount of energy, enthusiasm and understanding of human asset development. Her open style quickly enables her to build rapport and she has particular skills in facilitating practical solutions and helping people to find ways of enhancing performance and relationships. A popular and highly entertaining workshop leader, trainer and conference speaker, she is the author of a book on image "Le conseil en image" and has written for newspapers and magazines on a worldwide level.
